Flaming Locks

I have to say, red hair is difficult to pull off. Women are lucky to be able to use clothes and makeup (and tints/highlights) to make the most of firey tresses, and those who pull it off are stunning. Its much more interesting than blonde or brunette, and here are two inspirations (not that I will be turning red anytime soon!)

Emma stone is lucky enough to have the skin tone and perfect features to pull off any hair colour (she's a natural blonde) but wears red well. Its also cool that she is so funny and chooses great roles. Can't wait to see 'Crazy, Stupid Love'

Geek Chic & Sweet Treats

No matter how amateur I am at writing/photography/styling (and I admit I am an absolute newb), you can't say I haven't tried. Here are my study-aides and inspirations during my last trip to the family home, where we celebrated my dad's birthday with a delicious lemon shortcake and the most beautiful, glossy meringues you'll ever see. The cookie jar contains mum's famous melting moments, that she sometimes express posts to me when she's worried I'm home sick :)

Shop One Ate Tea

Coffee is my everything. Sometimes I must substitute quality for whatever is available to give me a caffeine kick. Not today. Today we had breakfast in Mornington at a newly opened cafe called 'Shop One Ate Tea' (180 Main St Mornington). Poached eggs and bacon on sourdough toast with avocado. So delicious! The Coffee was 10/10 and the service was impeccable.

Going Swimmingly

Now that the season had turned and Spring is upon us, its time to start thinking ahead. Ahead to Summer! And Summer means increasing PT sessions (haha, just kidding!), decreasing caloric intake, and tackling bikini shopping. Even though I picked up quite a large loot last summer in Thailand, I'm always on the lookout for more. This year my prayers have been answered in the form of Zimmermann.

Sunday Sesh

There is nothing more hedonistic than a chilled out Sunday sesh in a sunny spot at the pub. This brings the opportunity to gossip, drink, eat, and best of all - PEOPLE WATCH from behind some oversized wayfarers!

I love seeing the interesting things people put together; some people are SO over done (fake tan, make up, bleach), some people are deliciously just right, and others are somewhat underdone (the 'just rolled out of bed' look?).

THE COLLEGE LAWN

Yesterday at THE COLLEGE LAWN I noted that brights are back in a big way (as I was hoping) now that the sun seems to be warming up Melbourne prematurely. A packed pub in a trendy suburb always brings out some modern-hippies (aka people who are 'too cool for school') and I was really feeling some white crochet and lace numbers. Live music would have topped off the afternoon, but you can't have everything.

Here are some of my favourite outdoor hot spots for the coming Sunday afternoons:

THE ROOFTOP

THE ESPY

THE CORNER HOTEL
